| For 2010, Thatiana Pagung will parade again as Reina da Bateria for Mocidade Independente Padre Miguel Samba School where she has been a member since 2007. Tatiana is a true “roots” Reina da Bateria as she first gained her fame as a standout Carnaval dancer and then became popular as a TV actress. Tatiana finds more than fun through her participation in the carnival parades. The multi-talented actress once stated during an interview that parading in the Rio Sambadrome feels like a Dionysian ritual, where all the magic, ecstasy and enthusiasm vibrate in perfect harmony. Perhaps this may be related to her birthday which follows Shrove Tuesday, the last day of pre-Lenten Carnival better known as Ash Wednesday. Thatiana has a deep connection with the samba world and as a child, loved to watch the samba parades at TV. She also began her training as an actress early when , first at the “Retiro dos Artistas Acting School” and then then moved to the prestigious Tablado Theater School in Rio before she graduated from high school. |
