Carnival (Carnaval in the great Carnaval languages of Portuguese, Spanish & French) is meant to be experienced. To parade in a beautiful costume, to the heartbreaking beats of samba, on the biggest "stage" in the world. People who parade in the parade and feel the emotion vibrating through their body say it is one the best experiences of their lives.

You do not want to appear as a tourist for your moment of glory under the lights.  You will be expected to invest utmost energy into your performance for the School. Your samba school is counting on you to make them standout in a positive way in harmony with your fellow performers.

We've seen more costume retailer sites disappear than any other category for Rio Carnaval. These are some who we've followed on the forums as well as the web and appear to deliver what they promise with no unwelcome surprises that should have been forseen.

Here's some costume resellers who

Our unique, one of a kind package lets you live all the emotion and excitement of this special celebration. Imagine yourself parading with one of Rio's fabled "Samba Schools", singing the samba and dancing the rhythms of Carnival like a true native with thousands of people watching.  Millions of others following every school through their own TV’s.  It’s a high energy event that you will certainly remember forever. The warming up time (concentracao) in which you prepare to enter is a great experience.

Costume packages include transfers from the hotel area to the Sambadrome warm-up area and back to the hotel area when the parade is over. This is a convenient service with English speaking guide from our staff during all times.

In 2009, carnival Service dot com, the leading Rio Carnaval ticket agency rio-carnival.net began pioneering allowing visitors to Rio parade atop a float in this parade. This are generally among the best and most original costumes in the samba school.

-You get to participate in the event, instead of just watching. HUGE bragging rights.
-You end up with a unique, one of kind costume you can take home. They are all very intricate and opulent...
- You spend less than buying a sector 9 seat.

-
You get to watch the parade in the right amount (no one can really put up with 10 hours of the show... 3 to 4 is plenty!)

Costumes go for US$335

Christiano began in 2004 as leading English speaking guide to the world's sexiest by self-publishing a very well done and completely original take on visitors  like him. Single 20-somethings on the make for a good time with girls. It's cool to see him guiding a tour with "his girlfriend"

Each school has between 65 and 80 minutes to parade and each wing passes through the Sambodromo in about 30-40 minutes. You will be exhausted.

When you come to the end of the parade, the floats go to the one side of the Apotheoses Arch (next to Sector 6) and the paraders to the other (next to Sector 13). Just follow the flow of people.

If your school comes in the top six you will be able to parade once more in the Champion's Parade on Saturday, February 28th.

TIP: A-League Access Group Parade on Carnaval Saturday
There's a fierce competition to gain access to next year’s main parade parade with the Samba Schools on Saturday and watch it on Sunday and/or Monday.

The difference between the parade on Saturday and Sunday is like half the price for twice the fun “

You can parade with these groups which are on the same scale of luxury and granduer as the special schools on Monday and Tuesday.
